The Baby Room – a Fairy Story

Once upon a time, in a dark and smelly scout hut not too far away, there was a group called Nappuccino.

It was a lovely friendly group with nappies, slings and breastfeeding, loads of chatter and tea and cake. 

The ladies who ran it worked so hard to make the space so beautiful and welcoming even though there were woodlice and it was freezing cold and often covered in pins, glue and scout mess.

One day the naughty scouts built a huge village out of cardboard boxes in the middle of the hut and there was no space for Nappuccino!
        ‘Oh no’ cried Nappy Jen,
        ‘Where shall we go?’ despaired  the Gill the sling lady? ‘These mums need us!’

Suddenly an idea flashed into their heads!
         ‘Lets use the old abandoned Children’s Centre!’
so they bundled up all their fluffy nappies and enormous sling library into many cars and set off across the wilds of Heavitree to the school where the children centre used to be. 

When they got there the Headteacher made them so welcome and offered them the whole room to rent whenever they wanted and for as long as they wanted – Nappuccino was saved! Now Nappy Jen and Slingy Gill can bring their friends to run even more groups and host fab events!

And do you know….? They never went back to the old hut and they all lived happily ever after.
