I'm an independant Nappy Advisor and a volunteer for The Devon Real Nappy Project - I look after 10 trial nappy kits for Devon County Council, they contain a selection of nappies for you to try at home including some big names - Bumgenius, Nature Babies, Ecobotts, Lollipop and Tots Bots toname but a few, this way you can see at home how easy it all is...Its FREE to hire the kit!  - Contact me if you want one.

Mooncup is another great way to cut down on unnecessary waste, it can save you over £1000! Eh? What?.

This month I've been trying really hard to cut down on rubbish and household bills. Baby with Bubbles

I've been...

  • Camping! In Cornwall - have come home with a tan too! Ace fun! Minimal carbon footprint damage, helping the local economy etc!
  • Harvesting Courgettes! Courgette cake sounds truly gross but is TOTALLY LUSH!!!
  • Picking Blackberries and Blueberries already and eating them on cerial.
  • Saving foil milk bottle tops at work and donating them to the Force in Heavitree

Previously I've been ...

  • Taking a 'Tupperware' container to the local Curry House for them to fill up!!! ACE TIP!!! (You get a bit more curry too!!!!
  •  Taking my own thermal cup to Starbucks/Costa/Boston Tea Party etc (leave it on your pushchair then it's always handy)
  •  Taking my own mug to Church instead of using disposable cups
  • Recycling more at work, bringing secondhand paper home for Nancy to 'draw' on before recycling it.
  • Keeping a food diary for the council - pledge your allegiance at www.lovefoodhatewaste.com
  • Cutting up old washing up gloves to make amazing elastic bands!!!
  • Taking a packed lunch of leftovers to work - yummy risotto for lunch today
  • Using my fold up shopping bag...alot!
  • Using a bar of soap rather than a pump...lasts way longer and WAY cheaper - No packaging either!
  • Adding vest extenders to Nancy's vests rather than buying the next size up. See my price list if you want one!
  • Using tubs with lids instead of clingflim...saved us a few pennies too!
  • Bought loose fruit and veg and not put them in bags in the shop.
  • Using my folding crates when I do a 'big' shop...stronger than bags and you can get more in em! Less journeys  when you come to empty the car too! ...Ok I took the car...
  • Remembering that hankies are softer and cheaper than endless tissues.
