There are some amazing play spaces in Exeter all are beautifully cared for by the council.

The playpark at King George V Playing Fields is THE BEST in town! It is an inclusive community play park where the equipment is almost all wheelchair accessible - the Wheelchair Swinghswing, the climbing frame, the sand pit and the roundabout are all large enough to be used by older disabled children who may need more space for wheelchairs and sometimes helpers.   Its a really safe space with sturdy fencing and gates, it contains sensory equipment such as sand, textured surfacing and sensory planting, along with tactile signs for less well sighted visitors and pictorial signs for people with learning difficulties.

Go the the parks very own website to learn more about the opening day and to see some amazing photos of all the fun to be had. www.theplaypark.co.uk here is a map  here is a map to the King George V Playing fields.

Heavitree Park has anBaby on a slide amazing range of things to do - Skate park, Dirt Jumps, Basket ball court and the most beautiful paddling pools! There are 3 pools of differing depths all interconnected, we live near the park and can testify that the pools are always clean and tidy, the men from the council are always mowing, pruning and generally keeping the park amazingly clean. I love it in there! The pools are currently out of action whilst the men repair the leak, read all about it here. There are dog free zones, tennis courts, picnic benches with disabled access. There are some very old trees too! Did you know...In the war the army dug trenches in the park to stop the germans from landing aeroplanes in the park - you'd never know now! its an immaculate green tranquil space.

Not so much a playpark but a great safe place for a picnic is Rougemont gardens, the steep bowl shape of the park means that even the most wayward toddler is contained! It's often warm and sheltered in the gardens when its windy on Cathedral Green. Here's a map

Go to the library - 'Bounce and Rhyme' - borrow a book - read it in the park!
